Jenkintown Abington Spring Softball Program 2026
Registration for our Spring 2026 Softball program is OPEN! We will be fielding teams from U8 up to U15. We will be competing in the Inter-Community Girls Softball League (https://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=icgsl) . This league is typically filled with players who do not play travel softball; beginners are always welcome! This league puts an emphasis on playing fair and following the rules, the conduct of our coaches and players should reflect that.
As always, JA Softball continues to stress the importance of our volunteer coaches. Our softball program would not be possible without you! We will need at least one volunteer to step up as a head coach, though two or three coaches per team is ideal. You will have the opportunity to volunteer as a coach during the registration process. We will also have a mandatory coaches’ meeting where we will discuss league rules, draft teams, and distribute uniforms and equipment. More to come…
This season we will not be accepting requests for a specific coach or team, barring significant need. These requests should be sent to [email protected] no later than Friday, February 12th Volunteer Coaches will be meeting to select teams toward the end of February/beginning of March. Registration will be closing Sunday, March 8th.
Lastly, Equipment:
JA Softball provides shared catchers gear, helmets, and we do have bats available for use. Your athlete should come prepared with their own softball glove and cleats (no metal spikes allowed under any circumstance)
Additional equipment suggested for your athlete- sliding shorts, batting gloves, a personal bat, a personal helmet, and a face mask for any infield athlete that desires one.
