JYA CHESS CLUB

JYA is excited to offer CHESS CLUB!
We are turning our clubhouse into a learning space for chess enthusiasts on Wednesday Nights.
We have upperclassmen from Jenkintown and Abington High Schools coming in to teach our kids the game of chess. We welcome all skill levels and our teachers will match the kids up with equal partners so they can learn and improve their game.
Please drop your kid(s) off at the JYA Clubhouse on Greenwood Ave for a 6pm start time. We will have the room set-up and ready to go. This is not a competitive environment as we want to build a learning space. There is potential in the future for a more competitive environment but for now, we want to offer the community a place to play chess.
We will have JYA parent volunteers as well as our upperclassmen in the room and we ask that parents drop-off and pick-up at the clubhouse.
