JYA Fall Baseball, Quickball, & Softball 2026

Hello JALL & JYA Families!

Quickball:
This year JALL is offering Quickball in the Fall again. This 6 week program will run on Sundays at noon or 1pm from September 13-October 18. The program will be at the Abington Friends school. Please consider coaching and helping this program, since it is heavily volunteer reliant. Space will be limited this first year so sign up as soon as possible.

Baseball:
The purpose of fall baseball is to afford players of all skill levels an opportunity to continue to build their skills and compete in an organized travel baseball league. Above all else fall ball should be fun.

Compared with our more competitive spring and summer programs, coaches will be sensitive to the fact that parents place priority on schoolwork and that some players will be participating in other traditional fall sports. Fall ball games are scheduled so they don't conflict with other sports. Most games are Sunday afternoon. Traditional fall sports usually play on Saturday mornings.

Fall ball players get a boost in confidence when moving up to a new level. Transition players almost always need some time to adjust to the next level, whether it's batting from a machine, facing live kid pitching, or adapting to steals and pick-offs on a new size field, there is always a learning curve for any player moving up to the next level. Fall ball players get a jump on the curve by playing at the next level before most of the other players.
If you feel your son is not ready to move up divisions please contact us to discuss the right spot for them.

Here are the eligibility dates of softball:

SB Rookies 8U: Birthyears 2017 - 2018
SB Minors 10U: Birthyears 2015 - 2016
SB Majors 12U: Birthyears 2013 - 2014
SB 15U: Birthyears 2010 - 2012

**Please note that last year there were only two divisions 8U and 10U were consolidated and 12U and 15U were consolidated. This will likely be the case this year. Also, JA has offered AFS for Fall games.

Quickball 9/1/2020- 8/31/2022
BB Rookies: 9/1/2018 - 8/31/2020
BB Minors: 9/1/2016 - 8/31/2018
BB Intermediates: 9/1/2013 - 8/31/2016

Quickball:

The program will be at the Abington Friends school and not Alverthorpe. Please consider coaching since Quickball needs many instructors to make it work. Space will be limited this year so sign up as soon as possible.

The purpose of fall baseball is to afford players of all skill levels an opportunity to continue to build their skills and compete in an organized travel baseball league. Above all else fall ball should be fun.

Compared with our more competitive spring and summer programs, coaches will be sensitive to the fact that parents place priority on schoolwork and that some players will be participating in other traditional fall sports. Fall ball games are scheduled so they don't conflict with other Saturday sports. Most games are Sunday afternoons. The expectation is that players attend practices for their primary fall sport first and baseball when they can.
