COVID-19 GUIDELINES

JYA COVID-19 Protocols For Coaches, Players & Parents

JYA has agreed to abide by the following protocols to protect the health and safety of all participants and the community. These protocols were created after much consideration and many discussions internally and externally.

Practice Protocols

  • All coaches, players, parents, and spectators will comply with the current CDC and PADOH mitigation measures, including masking and social distancing in effect.
  • Arrival at Practice Protocols:
    • Parents should check their child’s temperature before coming to practice.  Please keep your child home if they have a temperature above 100 degrees and/or are experiencing any Covid symptoms.
    • If a player has a temperature or any symptoms, they must leave immediately and cannot return until they have a negative COVID test from a doctor. See Confirmed COVID Cases below for more information.

  • Practice Activity Protocols:
    • Coaches and players must maintain social distance wherever possible
    • Coaches will modify practices to mitigate the risk of spreading the virus by limiting close contact and focusing on individual skill development instead of competition.
    • Coaches and players must maintain social distance whenever possible.
    • Coaches will educate players on proper hygiene behaviors to follow before, during, and after practice.
    • Caregivers and Parents will be asked to refrain from attending practices. If they do attend practice, they will be required to follow the same rules as the coaches, including wearing a mask at all times and practicing social distancing rules.
    • All individuals will be required to bring their own snacks and water bottles. Sharing snacks, food, or water bottles will not be allowed.

Game Protocols

  • All coaches, players, parents, and spectators will comply with the current CDC and PADOH mitigation measures, including masking and social distancing in effect.
  • Arrival at Game Protocols:

    • If a player has a temperature or any symptoms, they must leave immediately and cannot return until they have a negative COVID test from a doctor.  See Confirmed COVID Cases below for more information.
  • Game Time Protocols:
    • Coaches and players shall maintain social distance when possible.

    • Players must separate as much as possible while in the team bench area.
    • Spectators will not enter the field of play or bench area at any time.
    • Emerging symptoms during an activity means removal from activity and they cannot return until they are symptom free and have had a negative COVID test from a doctor.

Confirmed COVID Case Protocol

  • Immediately isolate and seek medical care for any individual who develops symptoms.
  • Contact the local health center about suspected cases or exposure.
  • Immediately contact the appropriate League Coordinator (listed above).
  • The team will notify all families and players who attended the same practices or games with any player or coach that has tested positive for Covid-19, and individual testing is encouraged if a player is symptomatic.
  • The applicable League Coordinator will send an email out to all the families on the team of the positive case and notify one of the club representatives of the positive case as well.
  • Any infected players must have a doctor’s note with a negative Covid-19 test before they can return back to practice and/or games.
